Howard Ferré is a composer, musician and sound designer working out of Ferre Studios in Palm Bay, Florida. For more than two decades he has written original music and built sonic worlds for the theatre — and, increasingly, for film, video and the long-form ambient album.
Across three studio albums — Journey's End, West of the Moon, and Portals Between — his work drifts from beatless ambient through fragile piano, downtempo guitar and Latin-jazz electric piano. Reviewers have placed him in conversation with Enya, Enigma and Tangerine Dream — though he is most himself in the quiet rooms between styles.
At Ferre Studios, every project begins the same way: with a question about the picture, the play, the silence — and a long, patient listen for the right first note.
